Wall Opening Weeps™ are a versatile weep for use in thin veneer, full brick and full stone walls as well as above window and door openings. They put multiple, predictable weep holes where they belong, at the lowest point!


  • Versatile weeps for thin veneers, full brick and full stone walls
  • They form the bottom edge of the scratch coat and the bottom edge of the thin-set mortar over wall opening (windows and doors)
  • They maintain vertical tunnels/channels up into thin veneer walls
  • Translucent in color to blend with mortar

Wall Opening Weeps™ Installation

  • Install Wall Opening WeepsTM  10″ to 12″ on center on flashings
  • Lightly score and crack off Wall Opening Weeps™ while mortar is still plastic

Wall Opening Weeps Specifications

A 0.024″ (0.6 mm) thick high-impact polystyrene strip formed with 3/16″ (4.8 mm) deep corrugations, bent into L-shape, 9″ (229 mm) Leg – 2.25″ (57 mm ) wide and 5″ (127 mm) leg – 2.5″ (57mm) wide. This system is installed behind thin veneer scratch coat and metal lath to create a system of tunnels and channels down behind and out of thin veneers at tops of wall openings (windows, doors, etc.), this weep system must be used in conjunction with MTI Sure Cavity or MTI Gravity Cavity.
